The love of horse Dominique

Company "Dulidu"

Puppet theatre from Lithuania

Dominique, a wild horse, falls in love with a beautiful, somewhat cheeky cornflower.

As winter approaches, the horse picks the flower, since the frost threatens to kill it. Then it sets off on a journey to Africa to find the cornfield from which its beloved cornflower came. On its journey, Dominique encounters a polar bear, a crocodile, a camel, and other characters...

As spring approaches, Dominique decides to return home, because his cornflower must sprout again.

The play, based on the fairy tale by Vytautas V. Landsbergis, is a sensitive love story that presents the theme of love to the audience in a modern and creative way.

Performed by two actors who play with different shapes and sizes of paper sheets and objects, it tells a story of affection, travel, and creativity, and at the same time subtly bears witness to continuous renewal.

The play was nominated for best children's performance in 2015.

We live here

Teatr Animacji

Dance theatre from Poland

Look, this is our house. We live here. Our home. But look around you – can you see the others? Are they connected? Can you see the connection between one and the other?

We would like to invite families to take a trip to our neighborhood. This is our community. We all live here. Let's explore our shared space together. How do we care for one another?

How can we live together despite all our differences? We are all connected. Therefore, we want to be kind and build our community together.

The performance is an expression of our desire to give a voice to the youngest – in the relationships we have with the people around us – because their kindness and open hearts make us believe that a new, compassionate community is possible.

Two empathetic performers invite the youngest viewers to participate in building their little community and to share their creativity.

Through dance, movement and objects, the themes of community, cohesion and the search for the essence of togetherness are explored.

Admission: "Pay what you can" – tiered pricing

In order to find a pricing model that makes it possible for everyone to participate in the events, while also enabling us to continue offering such events and to finance the preservation of the monastery cellar as an open venue for events, we have opted for a tiered pricing system.

We ask you:

Choose between the different price levels yourself.

Everyone is welcome.
Therefore, in addition to the regular admission prices (€12,- | €8,- adults/children!), you can purchase a ticket for less or more money; the decision is entirely up to you.

By purchasing a higher-priced ticket, you directly support the cultural offerings and the continued existence of the Klosterkeller as a place for everyone, strengthen the offer of socially discounted tickets, and make it possible for someone to visit us who might otherwise not have the opportunity to experience culture live.

We fully trust your assessment and thank you!

We welcome your feedback on this model. Thank you!

On tour with The Gruffalo

The Gruffalo

Fri. 13.06.2025 to 15:00 Clock Martfeld Local History Barn

Sat. 14.06.2025 at 3:00 PM Syker Vorwerk

The Gruffalo, tell me, what kind of animal is that? You don't know him?!

Then I'll describe it to you.

You don't know the Gruffalo either? Here's how you should get to know him.

The little mouse strolls through the forest, and naturally, she is a tempting meal for everyone. She encounters a fox, an owl, and a snake, but despite her fear, she doesn't become completely afraid.

From her imagination she creates a creature; the "Gruffleo",

None of the animals have seen him yet.

"With knobbly knees, a horrible paw and on the front of his face

a poisonous wart".

With his help, she scares them all away. But then she herself is suddenly visited by the Gruffalo... "Oh, the horror, oh dear..."

But that's not the end of the story.

A wonderful story about the power of one's own imagination, about courage, wit, brains, and the encouragement that says: there is always a way out.

For children aged 3 to 93

Duration approximately 50 minutes, without a break

CHIFFONNADE

A planetary sphere rolls across the stage. Is it an ark or a cocoon? The dancer explores the great wide world, one hand, one foot, one head at a time, until she is brave enough to step out.

Somewhere between dream and reality, full of emotion and as colorful as life itself, Chiffonade is about growing up, unfolding, breaking free from the doll, discovering the world and flying, until the dancer finally finds her freedom in the most wonderful way imaginable...
